Applications are accepted year-round; the workshop committee meets in the summer each year to review the applications and plan the subsequent calendar year’s activities. The workshop committee has already decided on the workshop offerings for 2026. New applications will most likely be considered for 2027. However, if you are ready with your application now, we invite you to send it to us in the event that a spot opens up that would be appropriate for the workshop you are pitching.
Visit QWF's Workshops page to learn more about our workshops.
Deadline: Tuesday, October 21, 2025
Writers who have already been approved for the Writers in CEGEPs program do not need to reapply.
The Quebec Writers’ Federation invites applications from published English-language writers to participate in the Writers in CEGEPs program.
Current honoraria are $590 per day for readings and lectures or writing workshops, $470 per day for meetings and discussions, and $235 for participation in a roundtable.
The Writers in CEGEPs program sends established English-language Quebec writers into CEGEP classrooms to promote language-arts skills and an appreciation of literature. Financed by the Government of Quebec, the program targets both public and private CEGEPs and is designed primarily for students enrolled in English literature courses.
Writers must live in Quebec and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- at least one book published with a recognized publisher;
- at least five texts published in recognized (peer-edited) journals, print or online;
- at least one screenplay for cinema or television produced by a producer recognized by the CALQ or SODEC; or
- at least one dramatic work either published by a recognized publisher or performed by a professional company.
Please note that meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee that you will be accepted.
